GIVING NEST AND HEART TO HEART COVID-19 CAMPAIGN
Recently, the Giving Nest organized and energetically carried out a campaign for local victims of our covid-19 Pandemic virus with Heart to Heart. The response of the Giving Nest parents and children was more than amazing. Their generous response was in addition to the continuous year-round effort that Giving Nest provides to help our Parish and other local churches to address the needs of the poor in our area with food, money, etc. The campaign timed perfectly with our Parish in helping to reach out to a loud call for help from Catholic Charities for a Child Care Center in a very poor area of New Brunswick. Thank you and bless you for whatever you are able to do in this special time of need. St. Luke’s Heart To Heart Program.

Rosary Altar Society
I found this prayer in one of my emails this morning and I invite you to pray it with me each day.
Dear Lord, in Your great mercy and goodness, we ask that You please hear our prayers for all who are sick with the Corona Virus, and guide the hands and minds of the medical staff and all who work so hard to take care of the sick.
Be by the side of all who are sick, comfort their families, and let them know that You are with them, through this time of crisis and always.
Jesus, we love You, we adore You, and we trust in You. Even in this terrible time help us remember that You are always in control of our lives. Without You, we are nothing. Through You, we can do all things and believe all things.
So today Lord, we ask for Your divine healing for all who are sick with the Corona Virus. Breathe Your life into their lungs. We ask this in Your name now and forever. Amen.

HELP AND SUPPORT
HEART TO HEART
St. Luke’s Heart to Heart Program is again asking for help from our parish for non perishable and canned food items (soups, tuna, canned vegetables and fruits, mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, dried beans, cereal, cookies, juices) for local victims of our Pandemic virus. Heart to Heart wants to continue supporting our local FISH as well as other community food distribution organizations to provide food for those in our community in need. We anticipate the local food needs will greatly accelerate in the wake of unemployment due to the Covid Pandemic. Getting food donations is difficult in that churches are closed, and accessibility is limited.
We are encouraging food drop-offs as well as food gift cards, which can be purchased at the Rectory. Drop offs can be made at the shed in the back of the church parking lot on Sundays from 1-3 pm. We will have people available there to accept the donations of food and gift cards. If anyone would wish to help in the drop off process, please contact the church office with your information.

IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS NOTICES
From the Bishop's Desk:
"Given the difficulties of obtaining some types of food and the many other sacrifices which we are suddenly experiencing given the coronavirus, I have granted a dispensation from abstaining from meat on Fridays for rest of Lent, except Good Friday which is universal law."
The Most Rev. James F. Checchio
Bishop of Metuchen
Temporary Suspension of Public Masses
All public Masses throughout the Diocese of Metuchen will be temporarily suspended beginning no later than March 18 and resume no earlier than April 3, 2020, when the situation will be re-evaluated as circumstances unfold. Despite the suspension of public Masses, a private Mass will be celebrated daily at 7 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Francis of Assisi and can be viewed at that time on their website: www.stfranciscathedral.org. Televised or online celebrations of the Mass and other religious programming are available for use of the faithful on several television channels.
The Catholic faithful of the Diocese — priests, religious and lay faithful — are advised to keep informed and updated regarding the progress of the coronavirus pandemic during this global, national and state emergency. We will continue to monitor the situation and continue to communicate with you.
As the situation evolves, more resources and updates will continue to be posted on our diocesan website: diometuchen.org/coronavirus; and on our diocesan social media pages: @diocesemetuchen.
